The Finnegan crew are back on our new frequency

107.8 FM and broadcasting from the

GenerateFM studio in Crane Street in

the heart of the Liberties in Dublin.


We will have our usual mix of musings

and music in our magazine style programme

which features Irish traditional, Classical, Brass

and world music items as well as discussion

on topical issues, some as Gaeilge to

comply with our cultural remit.

 

For Horselips fans we will be

broadcasting a special edition of the programme

on 15.04.11 with a full hour of

interviews and musical content with

Jim Lockhart of Horselips. So, be with

us on 107.8FM for this special.

Yes! FINNEGAN is back on DHUB 94.3FM with the usual mix of

Art and Culture and stirring music from the Liberties

in the Heart of Dublin. Current affairs, as Gaeilge, plus

Theatre, Movie and TV reviews.

Tonight, also, we focus on operatic music which

has been a feature of our show since we started.

This time it's  "Brindisi" from "La Traviata" by Verdi sung by Carlo

Bergonzi and Dame Joan Sutherland. See our

This week, a special guest; Canadian poet Tim Lander introduced by our own resident

poet Eamonn Lynsky who returns to the show this week.

 

Micheal Mac Aonghusa is away for two weeks and will be

rejoining us then.

Our 'Movie in Focus' tonight is "Another Shore" (1948) an Ealing Studios

movie set in post-war Dublin.

 

Our Astronomy item this week will discuss the Hubble Space

Telescope and the magificent Andromeda Nebula our nearest

neighbouring Galaxy. See photos below in the photo library (all

downloadable).

Our usual quota of good music with the emphasis on Irish tunes.

I have put up extra photos for our following programme 'Maora na Staire'

(Makers of History) with Frank Connolly at 22.00-23.00

which will feature a discussion on the Invincibles and the Phoenix Park

Murders of 1882.

Back on Air

Finnegan is back tonight, 20th November 2009 for our Autumn session which is about six weeks.
One of our features tonight will be"Movie in Focus" as detailed look at a selected movie each week. This week we continue with one of the movies from Ardmore Studios in Bray, Co Wicklow casting Irish Actors mainly from the Abbey theatre company. Some scenes from the movie at locations in the Liberties shown below.

FINNEGAN RETURNS

FINNEGAN is back on air next month, February 20th 2009.
We will have the usual items on Theatre, Movies, Art and Culturein Dublin
and especially in the Liberties, where our studio is located in the DHub complex.


We will be expanding our coverage of local events
and will be bringing in local artists for live
performances in the studio.

 
Looking forward to the new session of broadcasting
